After two hours of cooking food, you can divide and refrigerate leftovers. Warm food can be put directly in the fridge at the same time being careful to use shallow storage containers for faster cooling. Contamination can be prevented by transferring the extra canned products like gravy or soup into other containers.
Consider date for expiration
Stews, soups, casseroles, poultry and cooked meat will last up to four days. Before taking any food for storage, make sure you have the accurate expiration date. One method to make sure these dates are observed is by hanging a date label on each food. A calendar can also be hanged beside the refrigerator to help everyone know if the food is good or bad.
One great method to keep your food storage safe is by continually cleaning the area. You can do a quick survey on your refrigerator to identify the spoiled food.
